Wow. I suppose that keeping up with my blog apparently isn't on my list of things to do. I read my last post from almost exactly a year ago, and just realized how much has gone on since then.
A year later and I STILL absolutely LOVE my job. I tell people all the time, if I ever won the lottery I'd do my job for free. I just keep thinking back to all those other jobs I applied for at UM-Flint and in the Flint community, and I would always be so frustrated when I never heard back from them. But God knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he put me in Saginaw, and working in the School-Based Health Centers. It's such a privilege to get to work with young people and just talk about REAL LIFE ISSUES. My students are absolutely great, and I probably learn as much from them as they learn from me. We recently hired a 2nd health educator to work with me, and I couldn't have asked for a better partner. She's an amazing person, and I couldn't have asked for a better counterpart.
As you can see from my lack of blogging, I keep myself VERY busy. I try to squeeze about 26 hours worth of things into each 24 hour day, so it seems. Lately I've gotten REALLY into couponing, making dinner and watching the 6o'clock news--i hope that doesn't mean i'm an old lady lol.
Bottom line: life is good :)
a little sneak peak into my crazy life...

Apparently I'm not very good at keeping up on these...
So I know we were supposed to post on here at LEAST once a week and update each other on our lives. Well, I still feel pretty connected to most of you, but beyond that there has been NO TIME for blogging lately...and by lately I pretty much mean since we started this whole idea.
Things in my life over the past few months have been all but "normal." But, then again..what exactly does a "normal" life look like? I have spoken to so many people who have gone through different trials this year. It just seems like EVERYONE is going through something. And maybe that "something" is satan's way of attacking us? or perhaps these things are in our lives for one reason or another but in the end God will receive the glory! Honestly without having hope in HIM and that NO MATTER WHAT he is by my side, and he is holding me in his hands, I have NO CLUE how I would get through what I'm going through. I have hope that I can "Consider it pure joy when I face trials of MANY kinds (which i definitely have..) because I am promised that the testing of my faith will produce perseverance... I also can't help but think of Mandisa's song which has been my theme song for the past few months "life may push my heart to the limit, but I WON'T LET GO of the JOY in my soul, everything can change in a minute, and the world may TRY, but they're NEVER GONNA STEAL MY JOY!"
This Easter season I am so thankful for the sacrifice Jesus made for us. Not only so that we could live in heaven with him forever, but also because we are able to have DIRECT COMMUNICATION with him whenever we want. THAT ALONE is something to be excited about!!! He has brought comfort and encouragement in my life in ways I would have never even thought of. Thank you Jesus for dying for my sins! Thank you also for allowing your children to come into your presence and sit at your feet. Our God TRULY is an AWESOME GOD!!!

My 2nd post....ok i'll get better at this as the year goes on...
So it is still so surreal to me that I have a what some have referred to as "a big girl job." I keep thinking that I'm going to wake up and have to go back to Applebees and it's all gonna be a joke.
Ok, complete SIDE NOTE, I am watching the million dollar drop show at the moment and the commercial was a sneak peak to the news at 10 talking about a body found in the Saginaw River....good stuff...
ANYWAYS, as I was saying, it is so insane to sit and think about everything that I have gone through to get to this point. God has gotten me through the good, bad, and definitely UGLY but he is workin on me EVERYDAY to make me the woman he wants me to be. I'm so excited to see what's in store for 2011. I know one thing is for sure...it HAS to be better than 2010!!!
ps my photo of the day is my flyer that goes up in the schools....gosh i wish i would have gone to the tanner before hand lol

I FINALLY got my blog!!!
So, thanks to my INSANELY busy first week of my NEW job, I am 9 days late on starting my blog. But, based on my life history of being late to do things, be places, etc, I think it's only appropriate to be late to start my blog. Anyways, speaking of my new job, I absolutely LOVE it! I was sitting at my desk the other day, realizing that I am finally doing what I have worked so hard for! It was crazy to think that just a week and a half ago I was working at Applebees 40 hours a week, and now I'm here, where I'm supposed to be! God is awesome in providing in HIS time. I am determined to keep that in mind in 2011! Well, this is short, but I am exhausted. Here is my first photo of the day :)
